Mackie BattleMech – work in progress

As you can see two BattleMechs are nearing completion – the Liberator and the Mackie. No changes on the Liberator since update 0109, but I am busy working on the Mackie. Still a lot of work left, but is almost time for the best part – the fine detail work. Adding wear and tear to the paint, scratches, numbers, signs, warning stripes, … all the little details which make the miniature come alive.

The Mackie is truly a unique miniature. This cast was released by a fan organisation – MechForce UK – a few years back and while it is lacking the finesse of an industry produced sculpt it has a lot of character in my opinion. Actually the overall clumsiness and roughness of the miniature fits well with its role in the BattleTech universe. Fluff-wise the Mackie is a venerable design, it was the first BattleMech ever produced.
