Crisis 2009

Event Coverage for Crisis 2009 is up. Once again it was a very nice con with lots of exhibitors from Germany, Belgium, France and the UK being present. As always Crisis also featured a very strong painting competition. This year the judges were unusually critical resulting in very few prices. Still I managed to snag a Bronze medal in the ‘smaller than 15mm’ category with my Shilone Aerospace Fighter (even without going 2.0 …). Enjoy the pictures!

Games Day Germany 2009

Today was Games Day Germany 2009 in Cologne. Sadly I didn’t have the time necessary to enter the Golden Demon competition myself, but at least I manage to drop by and snap some pictures … I don’t have all the winners, but you can easily see that the quality of the entries was very high. Games Day Germany 2009 – enjoy!

Just a few weeks …

… till Mini-Art-Con 2009! This looks more and more like the event to be in Germany. Mini-Art-Con – happening for the third time this year – will be on March, 21st 2009 in Reken. Exhibitors include Freebooter Miniatures, Masquerade Miniatures, Tin’s Bits and many more. Also Das Bemalforum and MaxPaint – arguably Germany’s two biggest miniature forums – will each have a booth showing the works of their members. You might find a few of my own miniatures in there too.

Mini-Art-Con will once again be host of one of the biggest and best painting competitions, the Red Devil. From what I have seen and heard so far the level of competition will (again …) be awesome and winning one of the coveted trophies will be a tough challenge.

Maybe I will have the chance to meet some of you there?

Max Paint Contest 2008

On July, 21st 2008 in Miscellaneous

Today the rules for a new online painting competition at Max Paint were announced. The theme is “Wahre Krieger brauchen keine Rüstung” (real warriors don’t need armor). There will be two categories, beginner and advanced, entries are limited to 28-32mm miniatures and one entry per contestant. Mounted miniatures, Monsters and Dioramas are permitted as long as they fit the scale. Deadline is September, 30th 2008. You can also win a number of prices (which are very generous in my opinion):

Advanced category:
1st price is a 100€ voucher for Ziterdes
2nd price is a 50€ voucher for the Max Paint Shop
3rd price is a 30€ voucher for Thomarillion

Beginner category:
1st price is a 50€ voucher for Freebooter Miniatures
2nd price is a painted miniature by Jarhead
3rd price is a 20€ voucher for PK-Pro

There are also several special prices. Check out the full rules and details of the Max Paint Contest 2008 here (in German only).
