Flashfire

Woohoo finally an update :) My latest work is a Flashfire BattleMech from Iron Wind Metals. The Flashfire is one of the Solaris VII Mech designs produced specifically with arena combat in mind. I decided to modify the miniature so it might represent a variant for ‘military use’. To do this I filed off the spikes on the left arm and shoulder. Additionally I tried to make the miniature more dynamic by repositioning the legs into a walking pose.

Another BattleMech …

Another BattleMech …

… makes it off the table. This time it is a customized Project Phoenix variant Locust. The base for this miniature was the 5V Locust available from Iron Wind Metals, but the arms were scratchbuild using various metal and plastic bits and some putty work.

Kuritan Workhorse

My latest addition to the Iron Wind Metals gallery is the Panther BattleMech – arguably the most common Light Mech of the Draconis Combine. This is probably the first miniature I have painted primarily with the gaming table in mind … I am not yet sure if there will be a sequel to this experience … time will tell I guess ;)

Longshot

An update for the Iron Wind Metals gallery: the Longshot BattleMech. I started taking lots of WiP pictures and actually remembered to do this (periodically …) during the whole painting process. I have wriiten a few words to accompany the pictures and have created a little project log which has been added to the articles section.
