Female Barbarian

Usually I am not the biggest fan of Freebooter Miniatures, but I really like this sculpt. Maybe because it is less cartoony than some of the others. Anyway I tried to develop a scheme based around heavy use of turquoise, blue and purple – obviously inspired but some of Jan Haley’s fantastic miniatures. Needless to say that my attempt is much inferior to her work. Still I am very happy with the result. Not perfect, but I think she turned out better than expected :)

For the pictures I experimented with a different gradient background, feeling the mid-blue wouldn’t have been the choice because of the blue skin. When comparing the thumbnails with the two different backgrounds the pictures using the new background almost have a black/white feel to them due to the desaturated colors used.
